My vision for the church is anchored in my belief that we, the people of GOD, are called by GOD, for the purpose of GOD, "...that all might have life and have it more abundantly". The scripture, Mark 10:45, "For the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve and to give His life a ransom for many", reminds us that it is God's will that none should perish. God has established His Church. It is my duty, as the Pastor, to bring to fruition the vision by which GOD's purpose is to be fulfilled in this body. The Bible, GOD's own revelation of Himself, is the critical foundation upon which the church is to be built. First and foremost the vision begins with a relationship with GOD. As a servant of the Lord and pastor of Bethel Community Church, it is my responsibility to enlighten, guide and equip the people of GOD with the word of GOD. As a small child in the country, when our fireplace and all the wood burning stoves in the house would be without fire,we would go to the neighbor's house and borrow live coals. Similarly,I will apply GOD's Word to ignite the flames of spiritual, economic, cultural and social power to teach people throughout the community. Jesus' approach to servant-leadership is best described in Matthew 28:19, "Go ye therefore and teach all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and,lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world."GOD's Word says that we were created in His very image.
We are called to be "Christ like".
It is not an option.
It is a requirement.
